In short, commercial TV service is always billed through two separate invoices. One invoice comes directly from DIRECTV for TV programming. The second invoice comes either from Ascentium Capital or from EmpireTV for the TV equipment. This billing structure is standard and expected for commercial TV systems.
Below is a breakdown of how this works.
TV programming is the content you watch. This includes channels such as CNN, ABC, ESPN, Fox News, and similar networks.
Programming is billed directly by DIRECTV. This invoice is issued monthly by DIRECTV and covers the cost of your channel lineup and programming services.
You will always receive a DIRECTV programming bill.
TV equipment is the infrastructure that distributes the programming to every TV in your facility.
This equipment may include headend systems, distribution equipment, receivers, control hardware, and facility wide TV delivery systems. This equipment is required for the TV service to function throughout the property.
TV equipment is handled in one of two ways.
If the equipment was financed through a third party lender, most commonly Ascentium Capital, you will receive a separate invoice directly from Ascentium Capital. This invoice covers equipment financing only.
If the equipment was purchased or structured directly through EmpireTV, you will receive an invoice from EmpireTV instead. This invoice may include equipment and related managed services, depending on your agreement.
In all cases, equipment is billed separately from programming.
Ascentium Capital invoices come directly from Ascentium Capital and cover equipment financing only.
EmpireTV invoices come directly from EmpireTV and cover equipment or managed services, depending on your agreement.
DIRECTV invoices come directly from DIRECTV and cover programming only.
