Connect the phone

1Connect the handset to the phone with the coiled cord.
2Plug a network cable from your office network into the phone's LAN port.
3If your network switch supplies power over the cable (PoE), the phone turns on by itself.
4No PoE? Plug in the Poly power adapter made for your model.
5Optional: to share the cable with a computer, run a second network cable from the phone's PC port to the computer.

Important: use only the power adapter designed for your phone, or you can damage it.

Let it set itself up

Empire Telecom normally sets up (provisions) your phones before or right after they arrive. After you plug it in, give the phone a few minutes to start, download its settings and show your line on the screen. Do not unplug it while it is updating.

Note: if the screen shows no line or an error after 10 minutes, write down the phone's MAC address (on the label under the phone) and Contact Empire Telecom: support@empiretelecomnj.com or (732) 363-9898.

Add a headset

The VVX 250, 350 and 450 take a USB headset or a wired (RJ-9) headset, including wireless headsets that answer calls from the earpiece (EHS). See Poly: Connect and use a headset.
