Before you start

Empire Telecom sets up (provisions) Mitel phones for you. Once the phone is plugged in, it downloads your extension and settings on its own.

Connect the phone

1Turn the phone over and plug the handset cord into the handset jack until it clicks. Run the cord through the grooves.
2Slide the stand into the slot above the ports until it snaps in. Flip the stand to choose a low or a steep viewing angle.
3Plug a network cable from the phone's network port (marked with the network symbol) into the wall jack.
4If your network switch gives power over the cable (PoE), you are done. If not, plug a Mitel power adapter into the DC port, or use a PoE injector.
5Want your computer on the same jack? Plug it into the phone's PC port.

Important: if the cable already powers the phone, do not also plug in a power adapter.

After it starts

  • Give the phone a few minutes. It may restart once while it loads its settings.
  • When your extension shows on the screen, you can make calls.
  • Still blank or no line after 10 minutes? Write down the IP address (see Mitel 6900: Find the phone's IP address) and contact Empire Telecom: support@empiretelecomnj.com or (732) 363-9898.

Note: power adapters and wall-mount kits are sold separately.
